Hello and welcome, my name is Helen Bishop and I am a MBACP registered Counsellor, Supervisor and Coach. I have a depth and breadth of experience of supporting and developing people.

Counsellor
I am a fully qualified counsellor and Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have an accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy, a BACP Accredited Diploma in Gestalt Counselling, a Certificate in Humanistic Counselling and a Diploma in Mindfulness Practice.

Informed by my training in Gestalt therapy my approach is holistic and humanistic. I provide an open, warm, and supportive space in which you can explore current or past issues. I practice in a collaborative way, so that together we can create a therapeutic relationship where you feel understood and accepted.

Clinical Counselling Supervisor
In addition to my counselling practice, I provide Clinical Counselling Supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors and supervisors working in private practice or who are employed by organisations. I have experience of working with different modalities.

My supervision approach is centred on creating a supportive environment where you can openly discuss your successes, struggles, dilemmas, ideas, and challenges.

I supervise at Rape Crisis and have previously worked as a Group Supervisor at a women's Centre working with qualified and trainee counsellors. I am a former Clinical Manager of a low-cost counselling service for women.

Coach
I have a supportive and pragmatic approach balanced by a challenging but warm style when coaching clients. I have operated as a coach to many senior executives, leaders and managers and I understand some of the pressures you face. I have specialist knowledge of emotional intelligence and its application in developing leadership skills. I am qualified to use a number of psychometrics, coaching techniques and development tools. My key approach however, is to work hard to understand what you, the client, wants and needs, then design the optimum intervention and deliver it.

Coach Supervisor
Engaging in coaching supervision is key to an ethical way of working as well as developing and growing yourself as a coach and your business.
I work creatively with my supervisees (coaches) to enable them to reflect on their coaching practice. I create a confidential, safe, supportive and developmental place for them to explore their client work. My supervision practice allows supervisees to explore pattens, share and learn from their best practices, develop their coaching and consulting skills as well as develop personal insight and coaching knowledge.
